Policing in the heart of your neighbourhood De Bruce Ward Whilst on patrol in the De Bruce ward today, Saturday 7 March, members of the Hartlepool Neighbourhood Policing Team spotted a vehicle being driven dangerously before losing sight of it. Additional units were requested to assist and after a quick area search, PCSOs McFarlane and Fowler spotted the vehicle in the middle of the grassed area next to Oakesway Industrial Estate, it appears that there was some, perhaps unintentional, attempt to camouflage it and make it blend in with its surroundings. The car was found with the engine running and it had sunk almost to its axles in mud. Something else that must have been running was the driver, because when officers approached, the vehicle was completely empty. Checks showed the car had no insurance, no tax, and hadn't passed it's MOT, it looks like the only thing this car passed was a few puddles. It has been seized and another unsafe vehicle has been taken off the streets. Enquiries are ongoing to identify the driver, who will be dealt with for a number of road‑related offences. If you witness dangerous driving or nuisance vehicles, please report it via 101, online at https://orlo.uk/Y7Eph, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
