De Bruce Ward Update |
||
Resident,
I recently introduced myself as the new ward police officer working alongside PCSO Dave Fowler. Since becoming ward officer in March, I have attended several ward surgeries and dropped into numerous places to introduce myself and meet as many people as I can. We were made aware of issues with ASB on Miers Avenue with youths climbing the roof of West View Baptist Church and setting small fires. A problem solving plan has been set up to tackle this issue which has involved; increased patrols around the area, crime prevention advice, AS13s issued to identified offenders and follow up interventions by Hartlepool Community Safety Team. So far this has seen a reduction from 45 ASB incidents in April to 28 ASB incidents reported in May. Work will continue to hopefully see those incidents reduced further. We know that off road bikes continue to be an issue in the area. Where we are aware of bikes being stored in addresses, we are actively trying to work with landlords/housing associations to take action against tenants. Causing ASB in the area is a breach of tenancy agreement and can result in tenancy termination. We need to continue to build up our intelligence around these nuisance bikes-where they are stored, who is riding them etc, and would urge anyone with information to report this to us either via 101, online, crime stoppers or in person when you see us on patrol or at a drop in. Your information will be confidential. There is a police drop in arranged for Monday 16th June 2025, at West View Advice and Resource Centre on Miers Avenue, PCSO Fowler will be available to speak to.
Please also take a moment to complete the below survey if you have not already done so, it helps us to identify and prioritise the issues affecting you the most.
Thanks Chris | ||
